Changes: Whoa yeah. Well handled.
Soulless: I really, really wanted to like this more than I did. I wanted the world to be deeper, and the characters to be less light. It’s not the fault of the book; my expectations were different.
By the Mountain Bound: Elizabeth Bear is one of my favourite contemporary writers. She uses language so beautifully.
Thanks for directing me to this. (I have a poor sense of direction in real life, too, so there you go.)
Have you read anything by Sarah Waters? She’s one of my favorite authors, and I think you’d enjoy her. I recently finished her most recent novel The Little Stranger (a brilliant ghost story) and then Jeff read it, and then my mom, and then my dad, and none of them could put it down, either. I’d be happy to lend it to you in exchange for your loans!

I have indeed! I own Fingersmith and Affinity, and I’ve read Tipping the Velvet, too. I’d love to add The Little Stranger to my summer list.
