I feel it only fair to warn you that yesterday afternoon on the way home from school, the boy informed his father that he was done with winter. “Because,” he said, “I can’t really make snow angels any more, or play properly, because it’s too wet. So the snow can melt now.”
Winter, you’ve done your best (which, just between you and me, was a slightly below-average turn, but we’ll discuss that on your annual performance review). However, you’ve just been given your walking papers by the kid who plays with weather like it’s a Transformer.
See you next year.
Thank goodness!!!
Although I’ve been very thankful for the winter we’ve had, I’m ready for it to be done. I’m at the point where I can’t comfortably zip up my coat, so slightly warmer temperatures are greatly appreciated.
Spring time here we come!
I love the “plays with weather like it’s a Transformer” comment. Matthieu will be disappointed though: he wants to get more skating in before it’s over…
Liam just got a pair of secondhand skates, and hasn’t even had a chance to use them. Ah, well.
They probably do have public skating at the local indoor arena, if the snow doesn’t last (and you want to use those skates before they’re too small.)
Our local arena only has public skating on weekdays, which is annoying, as the boy is in school.
Well, our local arena has skating on weekends. Why don’t you guys come out with Devon and Jeff on Sunday?

Paze, that’s a lovely idea; let me check with the boys. What time?
The free skate is from 1 to 2:30. You could go skating, then come over here after for tea. (I don’t have skates, and will be overseeing Tallis’ afternoon nap; otherwise, I’d join you myself!)
Let me know what you think!
