PSA

Dear everyone:

Next time you have a question about what I might want or how I feel, please ask me instead of someone else. I’m likely to have a more clearly defined answer.

Thanks.

I do. In fact, what brought this situation to my attention was someone who did care enough to ask me about something directly, instead of running on out of date information, or making an assumption about something, or asking someone who is not me. And I appreciate that person’s effort, because I knew about it. It would be easier to appreciate the efforts of others if I was aware of them, instead of hearing about people making decisions based on something someone else said about what they thought my wishes were.

See how convoluted that gets? Ergo, if someone wants to ask me something, ask me instead of someone else. The answer is likely to be more direct, be clearer, and have an explanation attached. And please note this isn’t about material objects: it’s about life stuff and how it gets handled, and frankly, simple common courtesy. Which, as is repeated demonstrated, is all too uncommon.

Anonymity is petty. The only reason I’m not deleting this is because it proves my point.
