Today for the first time, Liam is wearing a pair of blue leather size 7 Buster Brown ankle boots. They’re awesome boots, from the box of things my cousin sent up for me when Liam was born. But — size 7? Yikes. His feet have grown so much in the past three months. I’m hoping they slow down, like the rest of his growing has, because these are a seriously cool pair of shoes.
I had my annual checkup with the doctor today. Good news: I’m not dead. Remarkably far from it, actually.
And WHY has no one told me that Colm Feore did a guest spot on BSG? Did none of you think to do it, or were you all complicit in the plan to keep it a surprise until I saw that particular season 2 episode?
As you were.
Ah, is he out of size 6, then? I did find the other shoe not long after you left, and was hanging on to them for you guys, but perhaps it’s too late now. Ah well :)
You never know; some shoes seem to be made big, and others small. It’s worth trying them!
Conspiracy. *nods wisely*
Who’s Colm Feore?
*ducks and runs*
Colm Feore? That hack from the Riddick sequel? What’s he ever done?
*goes into witness protection*
And to think I was sitting down only this morning to email you, Steve, to tell you that I’d found a cache of hardcover copies of The System of the World over at the Dorval Coles. (This was before I remembered that you’d found a copy on eBay, of course.)
Heh. I’ve started seeing the hardcover System all over the place now. I’m glad the eBay price was about the same as the remaindered price, factoring in the exchange, taxes and shipping.
But when to find the time to read them! There’s the rub.
Because it was a stupid plot development?
t!
Hey, near-death flashbacks; it may have been slow compared to other parts, but it didn’t completely suck. Unnecessary to advance plot, too, at that. But hey — Colm Feore!
Colm Feore is great in everything he does, so magnetic.
But…
A) Battlestar Galactica truly cannot tell a story, so they *always* resort to gimmicks, overwhelmingly with flashback.
B) The Prez’ backstory was more unique and interesting when she was The Schoolteacher, an ordinary Minister, and not The One Who Was Spreading For The Ruler Of The Galaxy.
C) It probably contradicts established continuity; BG does this often as well, because…
D) BG only has 8 ideas a season, but 13 episodes.
It’s frustrating. That show had so much damned potential.
