My tongue is fuzzy from licking icing with food colouring in it off my fingers.
It’s not going to win any awards, but I’ve had fun. My soundtrack of the night was provided by Invisible, so I take no responsibility for the somewhat zombie-looking carrots on the carrot cupcakes.
Why am I not doing any of this tomorrow morning? Because I have band practice, that’s why, and there’s no way I’m missing it because ai731 finished writing the music to her song today, lyric melody and all, and we get to test-drive it tomorrow!

Carrot cake is one of those funny cake flavours that I can go either way with. It has to have cream cheese frosting or I won’t touch it. It’s so closely related to just the spice cake, but with the word ‘carrot’ added in, at least it feels *coughs* healthy eating it, right?
I’ve found another recipe that uses cream cheese that is so highly addictive in this household, you might consider it our ‘crack.’ It’s mashed potatoes. Boil them, leaving some of the skins on… drain. Add an entire square of cream cheese (I find the Philly light variety works well), a Tbsp. butter, some salt & pepper, and garlic powder (or garlic seasoned no-salt spice blends) and ital seasoning. Mash and enjoy. My kids go nuts for this. Of course, my son licks my sandals sometimes, so I’m not really sure if he’s a good food critic just yet ;P
Ah, the shoe fetish displayed by the young. Liam is nuts about shoelaces. Actually, he’s crazy for footwear in general.
I’m sure your potatoes are lovely… but one of the reasons I’ve never been a fan of carrot cake is because (a) it’s usually dry and mealy, and (b) I can’t stand cream cheese, and everyone puts cream cheese icing on it. But I can imagine the potatoes would be just as lovely with cheddar, and a sprinkling of freshly grated parmesan… okay,. now I’m craving potatoes, and it’s not even eight AM.
