The coolest thing just happened to me!
HRH brought in the mail and said, “Your strings are here.”
“I didn’t order any strings,” I said. We blinked at one another.
So I opened the package, which was postmarked from Germany.
I filled in an online questionnaire over a month ago about Pirastro strings. (They make the Aricores and Eudoxas I love so much, as well as other nifty kinds I’ve used in the past.) I mentioned I’d love to try a full set of Evah Pirazzi strings, but I couldn’t afford them.
They sent me three new strings to test, absolutely free. That’s about $170 worth of samples.
Now that’s customer care!
Extra Value Added Hypersonic! There, like, anime cello strings.
Neon Extra Value Added Hypersonic Evangelion Alpha Cello Strings: Fight!
Wow! That is *so* cool.
And the really grr thing is that with the gig only ten-ish days away, I don’t dare restring it to muck about with them, because I’d have to readjust the playing style yet AGAIN! Argh!
But afterwards? Woo-hoo!
Wow. Talk about faith in a product — “just try them, we’re sure you’ll buy them again.”
Or perhaps…*cue ominous tone* the first set is always free…
Now that is really cool!
Free stuff is always cool, but really good free stuff is even better.
Hope they are good. Let us know when you do try them.
Ta Ta for now.
That’s AWESOME! I love getting fun things in the mail!
I know everyone has already said this, but that’s is totally awesome. You really should write back to the company telling them how much you were blown away, how you appreciate it, how you even evangelized it on your blog. My mother in law has proven that this will very likely result in more free stuff as well as make the company folks feel wonderful.
That’s the plan, ADZO. And then I’ll give them thorough feedback once I’ve tested them as well.
