The Library

I read a lot, I read quickly, and I read a wide variety of material. My shelves hold children's literature (classic and new), Victorian novels, theme mysteries, science fiction, philosophy, religious texts, mythology and folklore, fantasy, history, works on the performing arts, graphic novels, occult and natural philosophy texts, books on alternative healing, Edwardian novels, Middle English poetry, Renaissance drama, women's fiction, literary criticism, Canadian literature, and a grab bag of other stuff.

I note down the date I purchase a book on the inside flyleaf, and until recently that's the only way I had to keeping track of what I read at what time. When I began my web log in February 2002, I began to list what I was currently reading in the sidebar, but titles quickly scrolled off to be replaced by new works. As of June 2004, I began to keep a file of all the books that appeared on that reading list, and that page now constitutes what you see here.
