Thick, heavy, humid, smoggy. The monitor is draining energy from me.
The only thing keeping me from falling asleep at my desk this morning is Metallica and the San Franscisco Symphony under the baton of Michael Kamen.

Oh, that album … Anyone who says that Metallica went into the crapper in the 90s has never listened to S&M.
Only being familiar with the first half-ish of their oeuvre I can’t comment on that sort of opinion with any confidence, but I can heartily second your implied approval of the S&M album. t! presented Metallica to me early on in our relationship as a metal parallel to classical music, and he was dead right. I think the S&M album is incredibly successful in what it set out to do. Plus, it’s just plain great to listen to; I love the arrangements and the extended orchestration.
